A thoughtfully designed area that provides students with a peaceful retreat to relax, reflect, and recharge
The Concord-Afton Sunset Rotary Club is proud to support student well-being at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College’s South Campus in Concord, NC, by creating a Student Zen Space. This thoughtfully designed area provides students a peaceful retreat to relax, reflect, and recharge during their busy academic days. Transforming a previously unused area of a college office, the Zen Space is now a haven for mindfulness and mental health support.
This initiative was made possible through funds from a Rotary District Grant, which the club secured to bring this vision to life. With comfortable seating, calming decor, and an inviting ambiance, the Zen Space encourages students to take a break from the pressures of their daily routines. Whether it’s to gather their thoughts, relieve stress, or enjoy a quiet moment, the Zen Space meets a critical need for balance and emotional well-being on campus.
The Concord-Afton Sunset Rotary Club partnered closely with the college to identify the need for this space and transform it into a meaningful resource for students. This project reflects Rotary’s ongoing commitment to service and its focus on creating positive change in the local community.
By providing a dedicated area for relaxation and creating a student food pantry, our Club fosters a supportive campus environment where students can thrive academically and personally. The Student Zen Space enhances the college experience and aligns with the broader Rotary mission of improving lives and building resilient communities.
